The article presents a methodological model for the development of students' sociocul- tural skills in the process of teaching listening in English by means of a virtual museum. The re- search is innovative due to its theoretical orientation and description of a specific methodologi- cal model. The research methods employed included analysis, comparison, description, gener- alisation, and theoretical modelling. The model consists of the following components: target, theoretical, technological, evaluation and result blocks. The model is founded on a combination of personal-activity, competence, intercultural, and socio-cultural approaches, and the teaching principles, methods, pedagogical conditions, developed sociocultural skills, and criteria fortheir evaluation are formulated and described. The stages of the process of developing students' sociocultural skills are reflected.
