The purpose of the paper is to analyze the features of territorial asymmetry of the Republic of Korea and evaluation the effectiveness of the regional policy of President Yoon Seok Yeol. This paper uses system-analytical methods, methods of standardization and aggregation of indicators, as well as the method of multidimensional grouping. The author analyzes the main trends in the economic and social development of various regions of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Seok Yeol's policies are characterized within the framework of the concept of balanced regional development. In accordance with the original author's methodology, integral indicators were developed and a typology of regions by level of development was suggested. The study confirmed the persistence of a significant gap between Seoul and Gyeonggi-do and the rest of the country, indicating the lack of significant results of regional policies of the administration of President Yoon Seok Yeol.
