The separation of the Orenburg and Semirechensk armies in China in 1920: diplomatic aspects (according to AVPRI and AVPRF documents)

Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the issues of diplomatic support for the retreat of the remnants of the White Army units to the Chinese province of Xinjiang in 1920. The publication is based on documents of the diplomatic departments of the former Russian Empire and Soviet Russia that were not previously introduced into scientific circulation. The main attention is paid to the problems of obtaining permission from the Chinese authorities by the commanders of the retreating Russian armies to cross the border for military and civilian refugees, the role of local Russian consuls and the Envoy in Beijing in this matter.
