The article analyzes the process of allocating Yakut Cossacks of various types of arable, pasture and hay lands, the amount of sowing of agricultural crops and harvesting of grain crops on Cossack farms in the Yakut region. Information is provided about the forms of arable farming carried out by the Cossacks, the features of agricultural culti- vation of land in the risky farming zone. The author systematizes attempts to regulate Cossack land use and introduces rules for the use of arable lands by Cossacks, undertaken by the regional administration in the second half of the 19th century.
