Under the current new situation of severe sanctions imposed by the West on Russia and deepening trade frictions between China and the United States, Sino-Russian border economic cooperation has expanded and developed, with a substantial increase in the volume of inbound and outbound cargo at border ports, accelerated port construction progress, and substantial results in cross-border infrastructure construction. However, an in-depth analysis of the cooperation phenomenon shows that the border economic cooperation between the two sides is still carried out in the traditional model of commodity trade. Under the current new situation, the strategic cooperation between the two countries has promoted the expansion of the scale of border economic cooperation between the two sides, but the lack of deep fit in the development strategy between China's Northeast and Russia's Far East has restricted the further improvement of the level of cooperation. Therefore, it should be considered to promote the deepening of border economic cooperation between the two sides at the national level.
